The Loc-150Tx, 150-Watt DM Transmitter is used primarily with the Defect Mapper (DM) Receiver, however it is also useful for those needing a low frequency, high output transmitter. Typically, the Loc-150Tx, transmitter (DM transmitter) is used to apply a signal current to the anode bed. The pipeline returns the signal via coating faults back to the transmitter. The Loc-150Tx transmitter is designed to be powered from CP (Cathodic Protection) stations, AC or external batteries, eliminating the need for internal batteries. This transmitter has a direct connection mode to apply the locate frequency onto the conductor. There is no clamp or induction mode. The Loc-150Tx transmitter has selectable direct connection frequencies from 98Hz to 512Hz (640 Hz in Europe). The two inch by one-inch dot matrix display with LED backlight shows output current, volts, frequency, and over voltage/over temperature/over power warnings. Two rotary/push control knobs provide access to frequency selection, output level, menu information and active/standby modes. Loc-150Tx DM 150-Watt Transmitter
The 1-Watt VM-500 Series Transmitters have one induction frequency, three direct connect and a fault-find frequency. The LED indicators on the transmitter show the frequency selected, output level, and battery status. An audio indicator beeps to advise the quality of the connection. This one-watt transmitter can transmit the locate signal onto the target line three ways. By direct connection, if direct access to the line is available, induction by simply putting the transmitter in induction mode and placing it over the target line with the induction arrow in line with it or by clamp mode and using the induction clamp to clamp around the target line. The wide frequency range from the VM-550FF Transmitter makes this a very versatile transmitter. The 480kHz induction frequency makes it ideal for inducing the signal onto large-diameter, direct-buried iron pipes with bell and gasket connections and for using the induction clamp around smaller pipes. The lower 512Hz and 8.192kHz are good for direct connection to trace cables, and the 83kHz direct connection is good for high-resistance pipes or for use with pushrod camera systems to trace the deployed pushrod. The Fault-find frequency can be used with the VM-510FFL+ to locate cables and find ground-to-earth faults. Packaged in lightweight, rugged, ergonomic IP54 housing, the Transmitter provides consistent current output in direct connect, clamp, and induction modes. The Transmitter has protection against incoming voltages up to 260V. The Transmitter comes standard with direct connection leads, ground stake, clip-on carry straps, and D-cell batteries.

1-Watt VM-500 Series Transmitters
The powerful 25-watt transmitter is the go-to transmitter for cable fault locating, finding holidays on coated pipes, problematic deep-buried lines, and long-distance pipe and cable locating. The Loc3-25Tx is also well suited for applications for cathodic protected longline pipelines and gas distribution in city areas needing a low-frequency high output transmitter. The Loc3-25Tx transmitter has selectable direct connection frequencies from 32Hz to 9.82kHz and signal clamp frequencies from 8kHz to 9.82kHz.
